Ithaca, New York —

My sister was metastatic great cancer patient at Guthrie in Sayre, Pennsylvania.  In I think 2014 a nurse at Guthrie passed on the gift to her.  

This gift is done yearly from an anymous donor.  When she received it, it made her feel so special.  She herself was such a giving person.  It is now 2021 and we are getting ready to host her Celebration of life.  In her Memory we are going to take the money in the jar and buy a plant for her garden.  I plan to have people make donations to the jar so we can give it back to Guthrie this year and touch another person having a difficult time.  

Learning the story of this jar that sat on my sister’s window sill has truly inspired me to start paying it forward every christmas in honor of my sister. Thank you Mr. Anonymous in Sayer’s, PA, you truly brought light to my sister’s day and inspired her family.
