This great woman had her purse stolen while she rode the bus

Salt Lake City, Utah —

We have read the book and we bought it the first year it was published. We saw the movie in the single screening it had this year and decided it was time to do this. Since it was only a month and a half until Christmas, we accelerated our contributions, but Christmas Eve 2019 we had our granddaughter make the delivery.

Hannah knocked on the door and this single woman, who had health challenges, and a difficult life full of challenges answered her knock. Hannah explained that this jar was from someone who loved her and that she is never alone. This great woman had her purse stolen while she rode the bus added to the heavy burdens and hardship of life she carried. They talked for a few moments and expressions of gratitude and amazement were offered several times during this exchange.

Four people were blessed today: we who collected our change and dropped it in a jar, Hannah who saw firsthand the accepted gift and real and sincere appreciation given, and the recipient who was blessed and will have a better Christmas day tomorrow knowing that she matters and is loved and is never alone.
