I was picking up a Christmas food basket given to families who can’t afford food for the holidays when a lady whispered to come over to her car. I looked at her quite confused and asked me? She said yes please come here. She handed me a wrapped present. She said it was for me and to please open it shortly. It felt cold so I figured it was some sweet little old lady who made something perishable for families that was volunteering with the food bank giving out the baskets. When I got back in my car my kids were begging to open it. I told them not yet and we drove to the grocery store to buy a few essentials. When we got there I let my kids open this present. They opened it and inside was $400! I instantly started crying tears of happiness. You have no idea how much this has helped this year. I am a single mom that busts my butt everyday to barely pay all of my bills. I recently got kicked off of food stamps because my boss gave me $1 raise to help me since I was struggling and now I supposedly make too much money. I am barely able to afford food this year. Also my car is slowly starting to die and I really can’t afford a new one. This jar has helped me see how there really is some good people left in this world. If I knew what this woman had given me I would’ve hugged her 1000 times. Thank you so much to that wonderful kind sweet woman whoever she is for truly changing my family’s lives this year!
