It has been used to help a friend pay for unexpected car repairs in the middle of summer

Greenfield, Indiana

A few years back I bought the Christmas Jar book in an effort to get “in the mood” for Christmas. I was so fascinated by the story that I gave the book and “starter” Christmas jars to my family and close friends as my Jesus gift that year.

Since that time, I’ve shared the idea with a variety of people and groups: my ladies group at church, coworkers when we’ve adopted a family at Christmas, and a group of children as part of a lesson about money – using money from my own jar to get their jar started.

Although I enjoy using the contents of my jar for Christmas gifts to single moms and their children or the families adopted for the holiday, its uses have expanded beyond Christmas.

It has been used to help a friend pay for unexpected car repairs in the middle of Summer.

A couple of times now I have promised all the money in the Christmas Jar by the deadline date for the fundraising efforts for a couple of my nephews as they prepared to go on mission trips.

So fun to see the variety of ways my Christmas jar continues to enable me to bless
others.
