Phoenix, Arizona
I have worked for 10 years at a small catholic school in Phoenix Arizona. I work in the pre-k classroom so I have the pleasure of meeting the babies of our school. My husband is ill, he has terminal kidney cancer and my life has been hard for a few years.
The Christmas holidays are stressful trying to find extra money to buy gifts for my family. This year I was surprised with a Christmas jar.
My sons and I were watching a show, the doorbell rang and the boys stood up wondering who was at the door at 8:30 pm. Christopher opened the door, no one was there.
He looked down to a shiny red bag picked it up and said this is heavy. I said is there a note or card? He looked inside and said no, Mom, just a change jar full of money. Next to the jar was the book Christmas Jars.
I cried and said what a lovely old fashioned gift of kindness and love. I took a picture And sent it to my close friends and family. No one ever heard of it but vowed to do it next year.
My son Kevin has already started his jar for next year. My Christmas was blessed by kindness I will never forget the happiness I felt when my son put the jar and book on my living room table. I just ordered the next book Christmas jars reunion.
My family has been touched by this Christmas tradition and we will start giving Christmas jars . Thankyou to the lovely family that thought of me and made my Christmas so happy.
