‘I hope I am around to give all Lane’s Christmas Jars away’

Mailloux, Michigan
I gave my first Christmas jar away in 2009.  My husband died that year.  I went to dinner with my sister and her husband and friends the week before Christmas.  It was a hard Christmas for me.  They were talking about the Christmas Jar they were giving away and how they left it at a young mother’s  door.  I came home and started one in my husband’s name.  He loved to wrap change.  So I took one of his wrapped pennies and wrote on the side.  Lane’s Christmas jars.  Now when I start a new jar I use one of Lane’s pennies.  It is like his love of me and our family goes forward.  I hope I am around to give all Lane’s Christmas Jar’s away.  But if not I hope my granddaughter will carry on the tradition.  I am also adding a wrapped sleeve of quarters.  I wrote on the side Helen’s Christmas Jars.
