Knoxville, Tennessee:
My women’s Sunday School class at a Baptist Church started doing Christmas Jars about five years ago after I read and shared “The Christmas Jar” book with all of them. Every Sunday we pass the basket around and place $$ or change into it and at Christmas we share with people who are in need. This year we shared SIX jars with others less fortunate and there is, of course, no end to the need.
If we have more names submitted than we have jars, we draw for the names but we try to cover all the requests we have. It has kinda become a tradition from our class to do this together. We agree it feels better to be a “giver”. Thank you for your story.
